Antibes, located on the French Riviera, is a beautiful place for a short visit. Here's a two-day itinerary for this charming city.

Day 1: Historical Center and Art Morning:

  • Explore the Old Town (Vieil Antibes) by strolling through its narrow streets to experience the medieval atmosphere.
  • Visit the Provençal Market square (Marché Provençal) to try local products and buy souvenirs.

Castle Grimaldi (Musée Picasso):

  • Visit the famous castle where Picasso lived and worked in 1946. Today, it houses a collection of his works and the central part of the Picasso Museum.
  • The museum also exhibits works by other contemporary artists.

Day:

  • Relax at a local cafe in the city center and enjoy local cuisine with fresh seafood dishes.
  • Visit Fort Carré after lunch, located on a hill near the port. This historical fort from the 15th century offers beautiful views of the city and surroundings.

Evening:

  • Explore the Antibes Harbor, where luxurious yachts are moored.
  • Enjoy the sunset and dinner at one of the restaurants serving fresh seafood dishes.

Day 2: Nature and Beaches Morning:

  • Start the day with a walk along the picturesque Cap d'Antibes peninsula. Walk along the Smugglers' Path (Sentier du Littoral) for views of the sea.
  • Juan-les-Pins Beach is a good choice for a morning relaxation and a light swim.

Day:

  • Head to the Juan-les-Pins area for lunch after the beach. This resort area is known for its restaurants and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Visit the Thuret Garden, where you can walk among exotic plants and trees in a scenic setting.

Evening:

  • Return to the city center for dinner at one of the Old Town's restaurants.
  • If time allows, enjoy cultural activities such as a live music concert or show.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Transport: Antibes is small and most attractions are within walking distance. However, for visiting remote places like Cap d'Antibes, you may need to rent a bike or car.
  • Preparations: Weather on the French Riviera can be hot, so don't forget sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes.

I hope your short but enriching visit to Antibes will bring many new experiences and memories!
