Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK, known for its cultural heritage, history, and modern atmosphere. Here is a rough plan for two days to maximize your enjoyment in this wonderful city.

Day 1: History and Culture

Morning

  • Birmingham Library: Start your day with a visit to one of Europe's largest libraries. Admire the modern architecture and go up to the terrace for a great view of the city.
  • Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery: This museum is famous for its Pre-Raphaelite collections and beautiful art collection. You can also see artifacts that tell the rich history of Birmingham.

Day

  • The Jewellery Quarter: This historic district is known for its jewelry shops and workshops. Walk through its streets and visit the Jewellery Quarter Museum to learn about the city's jewelry history.
  • Traditional English lunch: Stop for lunch at a local pub or restaurant to try traditional dishes. We especially recommend trying fish and chips or steak pie.

Evening

  • Birmingham Botanical Gardens: Spend the evening in a peaceful atmosphere, strolling through beautiful gardens. It's a great place to relax after a busy day.

Day 2: Modernity and Entertainment

Morning

  • Gas Street Basin Canal: Walk along the picturesque canal waterfront, enjoy the atmosphere, and learn about the city's industrial history. You can even go on a boat trip.
  • Brindleyplace: This modern district offers a variety of cafes and shops. Perfect for a morning coffee and light shopping.

Day

  • Cadbury World: Visit the Cadbury World museum to learn about the history and production of chocolate. This will especially appeal to children, but adults will also be delighted.
  • Bullring & Grand Central: This huge shopping center will satisfy all your shopping cravings. Here you will find luxury brands as well as more affordable stores.

Evening

  • Mailbox Birmingham: End your visit with a walk through this stylish area with fashionable boutiques and restaurants. It's a great place for dinner - try dishes at one of the restaurants overlooking the canal.

Additional

  • Nightlife: If you have the energy and desire to continue the evening, Birmingham offers plenty of theaters and concert venues. Check out the Symphony Hall or the Hippodrome.

Birmingham is a city that combines historical charm with a modern urban atmosphere. We hope this two-day tour will help you discover all the facets of this amazing city.
