Here is an approximate tourist guide to Bonn for 3 days.

Day 1: Historic center and cultural attractions Morning:

  • Beethoven House Museum: Start your stay in Bonn with a visit to the Beethoven House Museum on Bonngasse street. This is where the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven was born and spent his childhood.
  • Münster Basilica (Bonn Minster): After visiting the museum, take a stroll to Bonn Minster. This impressive Romanesque church dates back to the 11th century and is one of the oldest in Germany.

Day:

  • Kunstmuseum Bonn (Bonn Art Museum): Visit one of the most important museums of contemporary art in Germany. The exhibition includes works by German artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
  • Altes Rathaus (Old City Hall): Walk to the old town hall, which is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. It is located on the market square and dates back to the 18th century.

Evening:

  • Rhine Promenade: End the first day with a walk along the Rhine. Here you can enjoy beautiful views of the river and take some wonderful photos.

Day 2: Parks and museums Morning:

  • Poppelsdorfer Schloss Park: Start the day with a visit to the beautiful palace park and botanical garden. This palace is also part of the University of Bonn.

Day:

  • Haus der Geschichte: Visit the House of History, a museum dedicated to German history since 1945. Learn more about the post-war history of the country and the division of Germany into East and West.
  • Armory and museums in Bonn: Explore the museum quarter of Bonn, where you can find museums such as the Museum of Numismatics and the Bonn Museum of Natural History.

Evening:

  • Walk through the Old Town: Explore the streets of the old city with its beautiful buildings, cozy cafes, and shops.

Day 3: Surroundings and relaxation Morning:

  • Bonn Botanical Garden: Enjoy a morning walk through the botanical garden, which is home to many plant species from around the world.

Day:

  • Drachenfels: Take a day trip to the famous hill of Drachenfels, located near Bonn. Climb to the top for magnificent views of the Rhine. You can reach it by funicular or on foot.
  • Schloss Drachenburg: On the way to the top of Drachenfels, visit the amazing neo-romanesque castle that looks like something out of a fairy tale.

Evening:

  • Bonn Opera House: Finish your stay in Bonn by attending a performance at the local opera or philharmonic. Be sure to book your tickets in advance.

Useful tips:

  • Transportation: Bonn has a convenient public transport system (buses and trams). The city is also compact, and many attractions can be explored on foot.
  • Food: Try local dishes at one of the traditional restaurants. Pay attention to German sausages, sauerkraut, and of course, Bonn beer.
