Guide to Makarska for 2 days

Makarska is a picturesque resort town in Croatia, located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea at the foot of the Biokovo mountain range. Here you can enjoy both beach relaxation and active excursions. Here is a proposed plan for 2 days in Makarska:

Day 1: Exploring Makarska

Morning:

  1. Take a walk along the city's waterfront promenade Riva. Start the morning with a stroll along the promenade, enjoying the sea views and boats. There are plenty of cafes where you can have breakfast.
  2. Visit the Church of St. Mark. This baroque church is the center of the old town and one of its main attractions.
  3. Makarska City Museum. Learn more about the culture and history of the region by visiting this museum.

Day:

  1. Beach relaxation at the central beach of Makarska. Spend the day sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear water.
  2. Lunch at a local tavern. Try local dishes such as seafood pasta or grilled fish.

Evening:

  1. Sunset at Cape St. Peter. Take a walk to the lighthouse on the cape to enjoy the sunset and stunning views of the sea.
  2. Dinner at a restaurant on the waterfront. End the day with dinner featuring local wines and Croatian cuisine.

Day 2: Nature and Adventures

Morning:

  1. Excursion to Biokovo Nature Park. Early in the morning, head to the Biokovo mountains for hikes, enjoying stunning views of the coast. Don't forget to visit the Skywalk viewing platform.

Day:

  1. Boat trip to the islands of Brac or Hvar. Take a day trip to one of the nearby islands. This is a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring adventure routes.
  2. Lunch on the island. Find a restaurant on the island and try fresh seafood.

Evening:

  1. Return to Makarska and relax on the beach. After a busy day, unwind on the beach or take a stroll along the evening promenade.
  2. Visit the night market. At the market, you can buy souvenirs and items from local artisans.
  3. Farewell dinner. Conclude your stay in Makarska with an atmospheric dinner at one of the city's top restaurants.

Makarska offers plenty of opportunities for active recreation and relaxation, and in two days you will be able to see and experience much of what this wonderful region has to offer.
