Guide to Madrid for 2 days

Day 1: Morning:

  1. Puerta del Sol Square - start your journey at Madrid's central square, where you can see the city's symbol - a bear eating berries from a madroño tree.
  2. Plaza Mayor - take a walk around this historic square surrounded by beautiful buildings.

Day:

  1. Royal Palace of Madrid - visit one of Europe's largest royal palaces to immerse yourself in history and see the luxurious interiors.
  2. Almudena Cathedral - located opposite the palace, this cathedral combines different architectural styles and offers magnificent views of the city from its dome.
  3. Lunch at a local restaurant - try traditional Spanish dishes such as paella or tapas at one of the restaurants near the palace.

Evening:

  1. Retiro Park - enjoy the evening in one of Madrid's largest and most beautiful parks. Here you can take a boat ride on the lake or simply stroll around.
  2. Prado Museum - if you love art, make sure to visit this famous museum before it closes. It houses one of the best collections of European paintings.

Day 2: Morning:

  1. Gran Vía - start the day with a walk along this bustling street known for its shops, restaurants, and theaters.
  2. Malasaña District - explore this trendy neighborhood known for its alternative culture, street art, and numerous cafes.

Day:

  1. Madrid's viewpoints - go up to a viewing platform to enjoy panoramic views of the city.
  2. Reina Sofia Museum - a museum of modern art housing Picasso's famous "Guernica," as well as works by Salvador Dali and Joan Miró.
  3. Lunch in La Latina - enjoy typical Madrid dishes in this authentic area known for its tapas bars.

Evening:

  1. Temple of Debod - visit this ancient Egyptian temple, donated to Spain and located in a beautiful park with stunning sunset views.
  2. Flamenco show - end your two-day journey by watching a live flamenco performance at one of Madrid's famous tablaos.
