Great choice for a short trip! Rome is a city steeped in history, culture, and delicious food. Here is a rough itinerary for two days:

Day 1: Morning:

  1. Colosseum Begin your journey with a visit to the Colosseum, one of the most famous amphitheaters in the world. It is best to buy tickets in advance to avoid long queues.
  2. Roman Forum and Palatine Hill The Colosseum ticket usually includes entry to these two attractions. Stroll through the ancient ruins of Rome to immerse yourself in history.

Day:

  1. Pantheon After lunch, head to the Pantheon, a beautifully preserved temple built almost 2000 years ago. Admission is free.
  2. Piazza Navona Stop for a cup of coffee or try some gelato on this picturesque square with magnificent fountains.

Evening:

  1. Trastevere End the day with a walk through this charming neighborhood, known for its narrow streets and atmospheric restaurants. It's a great place to taste traditional Roman dishes.

Day 2: Morning:

  1. Vatican Start the second day with a visit to the Vatican: the museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. Buying tickets in advance is essential to avoid queues.

Day:

  1. Castel Sant'Angelo Near the Vatican is this historical castle, which served as a mausoleum, fortress, and papal residence. Climb to the top for a beautiful view of the city.
