Zakopane is a wonderful place to relax at any time of year. The town is located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains and is a popular resort for skiing and trekking enthusiasts. Here is a 3-day tourist itinerary in Zakopane:

Day 1: Exploring the town

  • Morning: Start your day by visiting Krupowki Street. This is the main pedestrian street in Zakopane, where you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Here you can try traditional Polish dishes and buy souvenirs. Visit the market at the foot of Krupowki, where you can buy local delicacies such as oscypek sheep cheese.

  • Day: Visit the Tatra Museum to learn more about the culture and history of the region. Take a walk to the old part of town, visit the wooden church of the Holy Virgin Mary at the Zakopane Cemetery.

  • Evening: Relax at one of the local restaurants, try mountain cuisine dishes. Restaurants with live music often offer traditional musical performances.

Day 2: Natural attractions

  • Morning: Take the cable car to the top of Gubalowka. From there, you will have a stunning view of the Tatras and Zakopane. Hike along the ridge or rent a bike.

  • Day: Visit Koscieliska Valley to enjoy beautiful gorges and caves. There are several routes of varying difficulty here. Prefer something less active? Consider horseback riding.

  • Evening: Relax in thermal springs, such as Chochołowskie Termy.

Day 3: Tatras and active leisure

  • Morning: Continue exploring the Tatras by taking a walk to Morskie Oko lake. This is one of the most famous and beautiful places in the Polish Tatras. The path to the lake takes several hours, so bring a packed lunch.

  • Day: If you have time and desire, climb to Czarny Staw. This will add a couple more hours of hiking, but the views will be worth it.

  • Evening: Back in town, end the day with dinner at a cozy restaurant with local cuisine. Try local wine or liqueur to celebrate your last evening in this wonderful place.

This is just one of many possible routes in Zakopane and its surroundings. Be sure to consider weather conditions and your physical abilities when planning your trip. Enjoy your stay in Zakopane!
