Paris 1-day travel guide

Paris is a city that is impossible to see in one day, but you can visit its most famous landmarks and feel the unique atmosphere. Here is an example of a one-day itinerary:

Morning

  1. Eiffel Tower
    • Start the morning with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. If you arrive early, you can avoid long lines. Go to the top or the second floor for a stunning view of Paris.
  2. Champ de Mars
    • Take a stroll in the Champ de Mars park, where you can take beautiful photos with the tower in the background.
  3. Musée d'Orsay
    • Visit the Musée d'Orsay, located in a former railway station. Here you'll find an incredible collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.

Lunch

  1. Saint-Germain-des-Prés
    • Head to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area. There are many cozy cafes where you can stop for lunch and enjoy French cuisine. Try traditional French onion soup or croque-monsieur.

Afternoon

  1. Notre-Dame Cathedral
    • After lunch, visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Even if you can't go inside (due to ongoing restoration works), the exterior view of this magnificent building will impress you.
  2. Latin Quarter
    • Take a walk through the narrow streets of the Latin Quarter, known for its rich history and lively atmosphere.
  3. Louvre
    • Visit the Louvre. It's too big to see everything in one visit, so choose a few of the most famous exhibits, such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.

Evening

  1. Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur Basilica
    • End the day with a climb up the Montmartre hill. Stroll through the bohemian streets of this area and visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
  2. Dinner in Montmartre
    • Have dinner at one of the restaurants in this area. Here you'll find traditional French dishes as well as international cuisine.
  3. View of Paris at Night
    • Enjoy the view of night-time Paris from the Montmartre hill, it's a perfect way to end the day.

This itinerary will allow you to see and experience the main highlights of Paris in a short amount of time. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, as the day will be busy!
